چکیده

The most serious congenital abnormalities are those involving the central nervous system (CNS). Ultrasound (US) examination is a safe and noninvasive method for detecting these anomalies during pregnancy. Objective: To find out frequency of fetal detected on ultrasonography. Methods: It was cross sectional study conducted 385 pregnant women using Convenient Sampling Technique. patients were referred by obstetricians/gynecologists routine obstetrical scan. Data collected from two hospital settings, Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital, Sialkot Umer Diagnostics, Sialkot. used high resolution ultrasound probe with 3.5 MHz to identify CNS in 13 embryos. analyzed SPSS 26.0. Results: fetuses found after underwent transabdominal sonography. Anomalies included 2(0.5%) ventriculomegaly, 3(0.8%) acrania, encephalocele, bilaterally present choroid plexus cyst, hydrocephalus, 1(0.3%) agenesis cerebellar vermis along mega cisterna magna. Conclusions: Acrania common among all anomalies. Disability bed rest consequences major abnormalities, early detection conditions now crucial. Another significant problem family counseling.

Fetal Central Nervous System Anomalies Detected by Magnetic Resonance Imaging: A Two-Year Experience

BACKGROUND Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is gradually becoming more common for thorough visualization of the fetus than ultrasound (US), especially for neurological anomalies, which are the most common indications for fetal MRI and are a matter of concern for both families and society. OBJECTIVES We investigated fetal MRIs carried out in our center for frequency of central nervous system a...

Doppler colour flow mapping of fetal intracerebral arteries in the presence of central nervous system anomalies.

The adjunctive role of Doppler colour flow mapping in the evaluation of intracerebral morphology and arterial blood flow in the presence of normal and abnormal central nervous system morphology was determined. A total of 59 fetuses with suspected central nervous system pathology between 14 and 37 weeks of gestation was studied (median 31 weeks). One hundred and one fetuses with normal central n...
